a black coat
hangs on the rack
alone in the corner
no one knows
who it belongs to
or whether or not
they're coming back for it
it's been there
long enough
that no one
remember
a time it wasn't there
yet everyone wonders
who the owner is
and what may have happened
though
no one dare remove it
just in case
the owner returns
